Re-purposing existing, redundant buildings is a sustainable and cost effective approach to the creation of interesting new places. Our experience working with existing buildings across various sectors has enabled us to develop an approach that makes best use of the original building fabric with minimal intervention.
This scheme is for the redevelopment of the Telephone House site in Shrewsbury into a 127 bed hotel, restaurant and restaurant terrace, and a separate office building over five levels. The proposals also include a significant upgrade to the public realm along the existing riverfront.
The design references the historic town wall which ran close to the site boundary. Our scheme introduces active uses to the waterfront with a new landscaped zone, and a restaurant garden terrace, available to all users of the hotel, restaurant and offices.
