New and inventive ways of using redundant spaces in retail environments are becoming more relevant. Copenhagen Designer Outlet was designed to fit into the space vacated by a hypermarket in City 2 Shopping Centre, west of Copenhagen. Allowing customers to flow between the two centres has seen an increase in footfall since the outlet opened.
From the new exterior cladding to the internal finishes high quality materials were used to complement the international tenant mix. Inspiration for the project was taken from classic Danish design. A circular route created with faceted shopfronts allows a good visual connection to each unit from the mall.
